CT scan, also known as computed tomography scan, and formerly known as a computerized axial tomography scan or CAT scan, makes use of specialized X-Rays and detectors to generate high resolution images of the brain, spine, neck, body, and bones. It allows radiologists and doctors to see the patient’s body from inside in multiple planes. It can also be used to look at vessels.
A CT Scan is performed extremely quickly (Approx 5-10 secs), and utilizes very low medically safe levels of radiation.
CCTA (Private Pay)- A coronary CT angiogram is used to check for narrowed, or blocked, arteries in your heart, also known as coronary artery disease. However, your doctor can use it to check your heart for various other conditions, as well.
CT Coronary Calcium scoring (Private Pay)- A calcium-score screening heart test, or coronary calcium scan, uses computerized tomography (CT) to detect calcium deposits, in the coronary arteries of your heart. A higher coronary calcium-score indicates higher chances of narrowing in the coronary arteries, and a higher risk of future heart attack. No preparation needed for CT Coronary Calcium Scoring.
